Is there any compulsion in Islam?

There’s no compulsion in the religion, meaning no one should be forced to accept Islam, because that’s something that person must believe in so much that he’s ready to witness that. This can’t be done honest with compulsion.

There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower”. surah 2 verse 256.

But when a person has accepted Islam, has he’s rejecting to pray or give Zakah, he can be sanctioned.

There are many scholars that have the opinion, that a person who doesn’t pray is a heretic, and is to be killed.

Abu Hanifa has the opinion, that a person who doesn’t pray is to be prisoned untill he begins to pray.

Malik and Shafi’i say: “The one who doesn’t pray, isn’t a desbeliever but he’s a big sinner and sholud get a change to repent. If he doesn’t do the he should be killed”.

The Zakah is also a must to give, beacuse it’s like a tax that the rich give, like in the secular countries where no one asks do want to give tax or not, is taken automatically.
